carpe carmina's eclectic playlist - inspiring and euphonious music for everyone

Melodies roam, whisper into one's ear, enchant and captivate. Vocals sound, rise vigorously, stir and thrill with an alluring might. Jointly, both shape the glowing essence, the haunting euphony and rhythmic excitement music claims to combine. A dulcet harmony and vibrant atmosphere is brought into being, calms one's flustered mind, mends one's troubled soul, exalts one's imagination and titiliates one's senses, strikes a chord, affects and moves. Music in its charming and vivifying complexity bears the imprint of ease and serenity, of impulse and verve. All you need to do is, embrace and indulge

Branches

When listening to the Fireflys' latest poignant creation of songwriting, 'Branches', one can't help but imagine sitting at a campfire, merging in the placid atmosphere of one's surroundings as well as of the song itself. Melodic memories of an early version of the song flare up, tonally absorbing and imbuing already back then, however, now harmoniously complemented by Adele Halsall's smooth and passionate voice - the lead singer of pop/rock quartet Chasing Infinity just recently joined forces with the soulful runcorn rock outfit, aiming to bring briskly melodious and emotionally evocative compositions into being. And with 'Branches' the band's calmly floating but powerful musicality is in bloom: Lee's husky and soothing voice stirs, whilst apollonianambient acoustic guitar serenades and rhythmically vibrant drumming blossom, whilst mellow harmonies soar and ardently dynamic guitarplay expands in a charming country-esque style. The song's lyrical narration flows naturally, resonates stirring sentiment, remains minimalist though, shows a repetitive formula even, which does no harm to its gleaming emotionality at all. 'Branches' provides authentic and heartfelt music-making that prospers.

 Images

Elusively swirling, nonetheless instrumentally grounded as stiffling and consistent percussion cadences reverberate, as harmonious and warm vocals shine, 'Images' floats in an effortless and hypnotically entincing manner. Zilov Gaps couple dreamy instrumental levity and dramatically exuberant, breezy melodic episodes, thereby create an eclectic composition rich in both bracing spirit and ambient, frisky fluency, deeply brightened through a powerfully beat-driven, furiously commanding sonic crescendo

Ark

The instant ethereal, fluttery and absorbing atmosphere of 'Ark' draws its audience in without hesitation, reminds of an astir bustle, yet clears promptly as vivacious and vigorous drum beats kick in, as buoyant, spirited riffage echoes brightly, later on fuzzily even. Strong and vivifying vocals of gentle timbric breeze guide the listener confindently for the duration of the song, express emotive and keen longing, one that likely resonantes with those as well who indulged in the composition for they yearn to explore Stereoma's profound sound in plenty

One More Dance

Celestial harmonies and ambient instrumental ease invite the listener to be absorbed in a melancholic and delightfully mellow soundscape: with 'One More Dance' Windmill have composed a placid and subtle song that lures with gracefully soothing and dreamily echoing vocalism as well as with mysterious, delicately mild guitar bliss and refreshingly rhythmic percussions in contrast.

Devil

Sensitive and mellifluously radiant vocal charisma shines whilst light, nimbly struck chords and euphonious strings raise a luminous and languorous melody. Manchester based singer/songwriter Sobi (Thurairatnam) pours out warming emotion and velvet vocal vibrancy, crafts a composition so heavenly harmonious that the 'Devil' plainly can't miss the hint and vanish, leaving nothing but blissful and expressive music behind.

Knight In Shining Armour

Another promising ensemble of musicians under the name of Rosenblume has arisen from liverpool's rich local music scene, and prove their compositional craft convincingly by releasing 'Knight In Shining Armour': brisk and emotionally glowing vocalism, the dynamically sweeping sound of an acoustic guitar, dulcet piano melodies and dreamfully romantic lyrical musings fuse, glisten with natural and blithe melodic charm and thereby herald artistic and fine musicianship

Ex Girlfriend

Emma Harrop's strong and soulful voice is a blessing considering nowadays shortage of great female indie vocalists, and, in association with a symphonious synergy of perky pop characteristics and acoustic tenderness, one to linger on in a copious fashion. The former 'My Heroine' frontwoman combines feisty instrumental and lyrical dynamics, blends in atmospheric guitar vivacity and tensely pulsating percussion momentum - what she gets is 'Ex Girlfriend', an energetic song that captivates with vivid rhythm and catchy, candid lyrics, one that equally rocks with fervent vocal vigor

First Punch

Intelligent and imaginative compositional finery at its best: witty songmith Ali Ingle knows how to harmonize his hauntingly rasping vocals and his music's often debonair and jubilant, sometimes wistfully moving sound, in order to accentuate his poignantly bracing lyricism. 'First Punch' takes the same characteristical line and discloses as a cautiously arranged and blithely resonant, light-hearted and lyrically lustrous gem

 Best Of Friends

Melodious vocals brimful of emotion radiate alluring warmth and vulnerabilty, both mirroring the song's genuine lyrical meaning, and comfort the audience with acoustic sentiment. Logan Stryx sings with heartfelt honesty and soul about the marvellous experience of being a father, and takes the listener softly along, stirs him outright with the heart-warming emotiveness 'Best Of Friends' embodies.

Hauted By You

What impressive tonal  impact a minimalist and mellow acoustic arrangement can have, shows Iain Till's deep-felt and ambient ballad 'Haunted By You', taken from his folk-focussed debut EP 'The Rise And The Fall': sentimentally melting and apollonian vocals join a calm, dreamful instrumentation, highlighted by nostalgic harmonica spirit and an opulently lugubrious string section episode. Melodic grace to the core

Different Beat
the broxton hundred

Richard Lucas (lead vocals/bass), Gary Yari-Gerrard (guitar/backing vocals),
Richard Ormond (drums) & Joey Berry (bass)

Edgy and ardent vocals glimmer whilst vivifying and sonorously cadenced drumming flutters, whilst spirited and dimly oscillating riffage of frisky and funky reverb commands a constantly solid and dynamically moody composition. Undoubtedly, 'Different Beat' hits the mark with lovers of infectiously beat-driven, rhythmically diverse and jaunty musical verve

Just Another Girl

With refreshingly fiery and gripping vocal edge, with orotund and ludically thrilling riffage of lively levity, with energetically clangorous drum beats Broxton Hundred succeed in setting the tone - namely, a vivace and buzzy one

Gold And Green

Suspenseful guitar buoyancy heralds boisterous melodic impetus yet to come, as deep, ceremonious vocal humming, accompanied by ponderous and steadily stomping drum strokes, ascends and merges in a nebulously haunting, feisty vocal epiphany'Gold And Greenboasts with fiercely revolting, thunderous riffage, with cloudy bass gloom and bold, pompous drum rhythm soon after, evoking a grave and solemn mood throughout, and conclusively manifests as an electrifying and atmospheric composition.

Can You Hear Me

It gets noisy and instrumentally intense with 'Can You Hear Me', the lastest release of Cheshire rock outfit the Sonic Revolvers: confident and forcefully absorbing vocal might of smooth timbric touch, fuzzily howling and furiously gripping guitar accents and dramatically dashing drum cascades collide and make for a dark and fulminant explosion of sound that can hardly be overheard, neither should it
